Advocates for children Announces Karen White as Upcoming CEO/President
ADVOCATES FOR CHILDREN ANNOUNCES KAREN WHITE AS UPCOMING CEO/PRESIDENT
CARTERSVILLE, GA-JUNE 23, 2015: The Advocates for Children Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Karen White will serve as CEO and President of the organization effective January 1, 2016. White is currently Executive Vice President, serving as Director of Development for the previous five years.
As CEO she will have responsibility for the overall success of the organization, including board development and management, program design and evaluation, evaluating new opportunities for service, strategic and financial planning. She will also be responsible for oversight of buildings, grounds and fundraising, to ensure the organization always has the resources necessary to do the important work of taking care of children and families.
White will take over as CEO and President after Patty Eagar’s December 31 retirement. Eagar has served as CEO and President of Advocates for the last eighteen years. “Karen is well-prepared to lead Advocates into its next years, committed to the mission of preventing child abuse in all its forms and continuing to help over 3,000 children and families every year--- and more” said Eagar.
Advocates for Children is a non-profit organization committed to the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. Advocates was formed in1983 when a group of concerned community members in Bartow County recognized the need for a children’s shelter. The organization began in a small house on Elizabeth Street in Cartersville and now operates eight programs with four locations and nearly 50 employees, providing programs and services to 3,000 children and families annually.
