    BOOTH WESTERN ART MUSEUM ANNOUNCES
    2015 SUMMER ENTERTAINMENT SERIES LINEUP
Live entertainment on tap for May, July, and August at Booth Museum

CARTERSVILLE, GEORGIA For the sixth consecutive year, Booth Western Art Museum proudly announces the lineup for the 2015 Summer Entertainment Series. Each event will be held on the third Thursday of May, July and August in the Booth Ballroom and will include a buffet-style dinner, cash bar, and excellent entertainment.

“The Summer Entertainment Series provides an engaging and exciting way to step into the world of Booth Museum,” says Director of Marketing Tom Shinall.  “Over the past several years we have featured theatrical performances, musicians, educational entertainment, and more. However, this year’s lineup will highlight some of the best musical talents we’ve hosted for the Series. The entertainment is set to be great and the Booth Café has three delicious meals planned, so there is no doubt that the 2015 Summer Entertainment Series will be the best yet,” says Shinall.

The first in the series will be on Thursday, May 21 where members and guests are invited to enjoy the sounds of Granville Automatic. Named after a 19th–century typewriter, Granville Automatic writes and performs songs devoted to telling stories from the past. Their latest album, An Army Without Music: Civil War Stories from Hallowed Ground, tells the haunting stories of sorrow and perseverance, 150 years following the American Civil War. The May 21 dinner menu will feature mixed greens salad, herb chicken with honey butter, garlic mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, yeast or wheat rolls, and turtle pie for dessert.

On Thursday, July 16, from deep in the Southland – somewhere between Louisville and Loxahatchee – comes Pickxen, a southern folk band spreading musical fairy dust all over the kudzu covered hills. This three-piece band delivers original songs with an Americana–folk vibe. The July 16 dinner menu will feature Caesar salad, pork tenderloin, wild rice, peas in cheese sauce, yeast or wheat rolls, and angel food cake with strawberries for dessert.

The final performance of the Summer Entertainment Series will be on Thursday, August 20. Join Jim Dunham and Jim Dorsett as they perform Trails Plowed Under. Dunham will paint and perform as famous Western artist Charlie Russell, completing a copy of one of Russell’s paintings, while also reciting favorite passages from Russell’s book, Trails Plowed Under. As he paints, Dorsett will perform Western songs related to the work of Russell. All ticket holders will have a chance to win the completed painting at the end of the show. The August 20 dinner menu will feature tossed salad, hamburger steak, pinto beans, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, and pudding parfait for dessert.

Each show will include a delicious dinner prepared by the Booth Café and a cash bar will be available. Doors open at 6:00 pm for dinner and entertainment will begin at 7:00 pm. Tickets for the Summer Entertainment Series are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting the Museum or by calling 770-387-1300. Tickets are $25 for Booth Museum Members and $30 for not-yet-members. For additional information on the Summer Entertainment Series, visit www.boothmuseum.org.
