The Chamber maintains a close relationship with our members of Congress in Washington and stays on top of important topics being discussed so that we may educate our membership on anything that may affect the business climate in our community.
Many years the Chamber will make a trip to D.C. to meet with our members of the US House and Senate. Our goal in going is generally a way to say thank you to them and their staff as well as make them aware of any current issues or concerns. It also gives our Chamber representatives a chance to meet with others in D.C. that may be of interest or benefit to the community. Thanks to the large and diverse group of industries in our community, our groups in the past have had the chance to tour the Japanese, German, and Austrian Embassies, have lunch with the Austrian Ambassador, meet with the Federal Department of Transportation, and many other unique opportunities to showcase our community.
In addition, our Chamber maintains a terrific relationship with our delegates and their staff. We encourage them to come to our community to see the incredible growth at every opportunity and we work to ensure they know we appreciate them through various special events and recognition.
