    JOB TITLE: Family Engagement Specialist (Triple P)           

     

    EMPLOYER: Advocates for Children

    REPORTS TO: Hope in Your Home Program Manager

     

    EFFECTIVE DATE: 04/27/2022

     

    SUMMARY: Work with families enrolled in the home visiting program helping caregivers gain knowledge of positive parenting principles to increase the overall health and well-being within the family

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    ·         Engage families in parenting sessions in a positive, respectful manner

    ·          Perform family needs assessments, create a case plans, and guide parents through the program

    ·         Implement evidence-based parenting curriculum and life skills to teach parenting skills

    ·         Enter data into electronic database

    ·         Maintain attendance records of parent education classes, and thorough case notes

    ·         Maintain contact summaries of all interactions with parents, other professionals and staff

    ·         Ensure high standard of ethics by providing for family confidentiality

    ·         Provide referrals to other agencies for their families as needed

    ·         Work collaboratively with other agencies to enhance services to families

    ·         Attend training relating to professional growth

    ·         Maintain knowledge of current parent education practices

    ·         Participate fully as a team member in direct service and indirect service

    ·         Must be willing to work in the homes of clients

    ·         Must have a valid driver’s license and less than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years

    ·         Must use personal vehicle for home visitation

    ·         Required to do parental screenings in a hospital or other community setting

    ·         Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

    ·         Demonstrate a commitment to PQI and attend required meetings.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    ·         This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    ·         Minimum: Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    ·         Preferred: Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    ·         Computer skills required: Database Software; Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook);

    ·         Effective communication and interpersonal skills

    ·         Must be familiar with the community and community support agencies

    ·         Knowledge of child development and effective parenting techniques

    ·         Must exhibit a willingness to assist in the personal development of low-income families

    ·         Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the families and program

    ·         Working hours must be flexible to accommodate work in the evening

    ·         Ability to communicate in native language(s) of program recipients is preferred
