• Quality Control Technician

    Job Description


    The quality control technician inspects and audits purchased, fabricated, and welded metal components and assemblies at various stages of the production process.

    Job Responsibilities and Duties
    • Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
    • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
    • Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
    • Mark items with details such as acceptance-rejection status
    • Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems
    • Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications.
    • Collect or select samples for testing or for use as models.
    • Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs.
    • Recommend necessary corrective actions, based on inspection reports.
    Skills and Qualifications
    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • At least two years or more years of related work experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Excellent communications skills
    • Strong organizational, decision-making and time management skills
    • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project
    • Experience with ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems and statistical programs
    • Black Belt certification preferred
    • Spanish speaker preferred (bilingual in English and Spanish).
    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Some of the work will require exposure to loud noises or fumes in the plant facility.

    The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
