    Job Summary

    This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of application systems software and assisting the Director of Enterprise Application Services/Oracle DBA in supporting the databases on which these systems reside.

    The Director of Enterprise Applications Services assigns work in terms of very general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures and the nature and propriety of the final results.

    This position does not have supervisory responsibility for others.

    Responsibilities

    • Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.

    • Maintains student information system applications as well as other college applications and software interfaces

    • Installs, configures, and supports software applications

    • Creates, modifies, and maintains custom reports as required by the user community

    • Creates and maintains user accounts

    • Provides end-user application support for the various student information systems

    • Assists in extracting and importing data

    • Monitors daily automated processes to ensure completion success

    • Assists with software installation and upgrades

    • Assists with validation for software application conversions

    • Is responsible for physical DBA activities as related to setup and maintenance of Oracle's RMAN (Recovery Manager) under the guidance of the primary Oracle DBA:

    • Is responsible for space planning for RMAN's recovery catalog database, the clones of the production databases, the standby database, and backups of the production databases

    • Creates, maintains, and schedules jobs initiated by cron that handle RMAN based backups of the production databases

    • Uses RMAN for cloning of the production databases as requested by the user community and/or other EAS staff for testing purposes

    • Creates and maintains standby database that could be used if needed to replace the production database for disaster recovery purposes

    • Assists with restoration from RMAN backups a single database file, a combination of database files, or an entire database if needed

    • Is responsible for use of the EXAGRID system for holding RMAN backups

    • Performs related duties

    Required Qualifications

    • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field

    • Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years of experience or service

    • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
    • some driving for the college is required

    Proposed Salary

    This is a full time, fully benefitted position.

    Salary: $80,000/yr
