    Georgia Highlands College is a multi-campus, state college member of the University System of Georgia. Founded in 1970 as Floyd Junior College, it now serves more than 6,000 students in Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama across its five locations in Rome, Cartersville, Marietta, and Dallas. GHC currently offers over 30 areas of study with associate degree and bachelor's degree options both in the classroom and online.

    Job Summary

    This position is responsible for maintaining student records and other administrative duties.

    Responsibilities

    • Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies

    • Performs routine administrative duties including opening and sorting mail, document prep work such as looking up student I.D. numbers and batching documents to be scanned, scanning documents, filing of imaged/processed documents, and shredding old documents

    • Processes transcripts and student enrollment verification letters for sending electronically and/or by mail

    • Replies to relevant GHC411 tickets

    • Processes FERPA and Program of Study Update forms

    • Performs related duties and projects as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education

    Proposed Salary

    $15.00 per hour

    Great opportunity to work flexible hours up to 19 hours per week

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Knowledge of federal, state and institutional policies and procedures related to records management
    • Knowledge of Registrar-related functions and processes
    • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs
    • Skill in oral and written communication
