Job Summary
This position participates in all functions of Special Collections and Archives, including access arrangement, description, and management of physical and electronic local history collections, artifacts, and college records.
This position is on-site and located at our Cartersville Campus.
Responsibilities
• Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.'
• Conducts reference interviews to assist patrons in accessing archival material, including reviewing research needs and topics to recommend additional collections and other library resources.
• Instructs patrons in proper procedures in using analog and digital archival materials, ensuring proper use and security of the reading room.
• Assists in updating policies and procedures for reading room and reproduction requests.
• Accesses, arranges, and describes physical and electronic manuscript and college archives materials.
• Assists with planning, scheduling, implementing, and documenting standards, policies, and best practices related to digital collections, metadata and schema, workflows, and quality control.
• This position does not supervise the work of others.
• The Library Services Director directs and supervises the work of this position.
• Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
Proposed Salary
This is a Part Time -non-benefitted position
19 hours per week
$20 per hour

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Ability to plan, coordinate and maintain programs and services, including digital projects and related systems, processing collections and preservation of archival, manuscript and other historical materials
• Knowledge of theories and methods of archival functions, including arrangement, description, preservation, reference, outreach, and electronic records
• Experience with providing reference and research services regarding archives and manuscripts collections
• Ability to develop working relationships within the library, the college community, and with a variety of external associates through effective use of written and verbal communication.
