What exactly is Job Jots?
Job Jots are videos that are uploaded by employers who are looking to fill openings within their businesses. In these videos, you detail the job and explain a day in the life of the job. You also highlight things such as the company’s culture, benefits, scheduling, etc. Statistically, viewers retain 95% of a video's message as compared to 10% if reading it in text. Video conveys visual cues like body language, tone of voice, and eye contact which are essential for drawing emotions and reactions. Emotions play a significant role in retaining information. This is why we believe Job Jots is an impactful way of sharing job listings with the community.
How does it work?
For the Employer:
Create a short video explaining the job opening. You are welcome to add other information that you find important such as types of jobs available, company culture, part-time or full-time opportunities, hours of operation, scheduling, benefits, skill sets, etc. Once finished, email the video to Matthew Thomas, Workforce Development Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org
. Once approved, it will be posted to the Job Jots videos site on the Chamber’s YouTube channel.
For the Job Seeker:
Go to ForBartow.com and hover over the “For Job Seekers” menu item. Select “Job Jots" to be directed to the Job Jots description. Select “See More” to be directed to the Job Jot videos. Here you can browse for different jobs that are available in the community.
