Bartow History Museum Lunch & Learn
Civil War Wedding Stories
On Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at noon, Bartow History Museum welcomes storyteller and historian, Richard Hensley. Mr. Hensley will discuss various Civil War wedding stories that include weddings which took place behind enemy lines, the possible inspiration for the saying “stand by your man”, and two stories involving West Point "goats" (please note: no animals were harmed or abused in the preparation of these stories).
Following the program, the BHM will hold the drawing for their “Second Honeymoon Raffle”! Raffle tickets can be purchased until the start of the program and all proceeds go to benefit the Museum. Prizes include a one-night stay at Barnsley Gardens, a Willow Day Spa package, training package by Boot Camp with LeNette Brady, a handmade gourd bowl by Ed Bostick, and more.
Lunch and Learn will take place at the Bartow History Museum located at 4 E. Church Street in downtown Cartersville. Parking is available next to the building. The lecture is free to members and included with the price of admission for not-yet members. Guests are invited to bring a lunch beginning at 11:45 a.m., and the program will begin at noon.
