On Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at noon, in recognition of National Historic Preservation Month, Bartow History Museum welcomes guest speaker and BHM program support staffer, Kristi Ferguson, who will discuss the renovations of the
1907 Henson-Welsh home on West Cherokee Avenue in Cartersville, Georgia.
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Henson built the home in 1907 and occupied it until the 1960s, when the home was sold to the Welsh family, who also lived in it for many years. After several years of being shuffled between a few short-term owners, the Fergusons bought it at a foreclosure auction in 2011 and began a lengthy renovation process.
Join owner Kristi Ferguson as she discusses her research on the history of the house and its previous owners. Ferguson will also show a series of photographs from various stages of the ongoing renovation.
Lunch and Learn will take place at the Bartow History Museum located at 4 E. Church Street in downtown Cartersville. Parking is available next to the building. The lecture is free to members and included with the price of admission for not-yet members. Guests are invited to bring a lunch beginning at 11:45 a.m., and the program will begin at noon.
