Thirteen-year-old amateur historian Andrew Bramlett will be speaking about Admiral John Henry Towers, a pioneering naval aviator from Rome, Georgia, at the Bartow History Museum on May 30, 2019. Towers began his career as an Aviator in 1911 and over the following decades played an instrumental role in the many advances of Naval Aviation in the United States Navy. Two of the many highlights of his fascinating career include commanding the first transatlantic flight in 1919, and later advancing the idea of aircraft carriers as the primary fighting ships in the Navy. The program, which is set to begin at 7 p.m., is free to members and included with the price of admission for non-members. For more information, visit our website at www.bartowhistorymuseum.org.
