The Etowah Valley Historical Society presents Mary Norton in a power point lecture on M.W.H. "Alphabet" Collins and his work with the Georgia Institute of Genetics located on the Georgia Higlands' campus. Collins' research improved cotton production five fold in Bartow County in the 1940s and 50s. He was beloved by farmer and all, received many awards and positively affected the economy and standard of living in Bartow County. His improvements quickly were sought after world wide.
