Date:November 15, 2018
Time:6:30 PM - 8:30 PM EST
Event Description:
Do you have a young adult or teenager that uses a smart phone or tablet device? Do you feel they are constantly two steps ahead of your attempts at parental control?
Join us for a panel discussion and Q&A session moderated by Doug Belisle. We will have multiple agency representatives who are on the front lines protecting our children from online predators. Our panel guests are experts in the field of child abuse and are on the internet fighting crimes all day long.
They will provide you with the knowledge and technology advice necessary to keep up with the changing times. They will educate you, as a parent, on how you can equip your children with knowledge of the traps set by online predators and traffickers.
This FREE event is being hosted by Advocates for Children, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to the treatment and prevention of child abuse and neglect. Advocates facilitates a total of seven programs in the community, including the Flowering Branch Children's Shelter and Children's Advocacy Center. Amanda Tant, Director of the CAC, will be a panel participant offering her expert insight on trends and patterns seen in her forensic interview room.
Advocates is pleased to partner with the following agencies in providing quality information to our area's parents and making Bartow County a safer place for children: Bartow County Sheriff's Office Cartersville Police Department Georgia Bureau of Investigations Homeland Security District Attorney's Office Local School Representative and our very own, Children's Advocacy Center
Childcare will be available on-site, but please call 678-605-9023 to reserve your children a spot.
