Position Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Cartersville, Ga

Salary: $70,000-$85,000k (based on experience and qualifications)

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00pm (40 Hours Minimum)

Position Overview:

AFI is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Senior Accountant to manage critical financial functions, including GAAP compliance, sales tax management, and account reconciliations. This role is designed for a detail-oriented individual who is eager to develop their accounting skills while playing a vital role in various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance!

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Account Reconciliations: Perform all general account reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and resolve differences between records and books to maintain accurate financial records.

· Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process and review accounts payable and receivable transactions, while understanding vendor terms to support our financial operations.

· Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries with precision, ensuring compliance with GAAP.

· Accruals and Prepayments: Apply your knowledge of accrual accounting to manage timing differences in expenses and revenues effectively.

· Sales and Use Tax: Research multi-state sales and use tax regulations regarding taxability of company products and services. Work with customer service and sales team in collecting sales tax exemptions forms. File state sales and use tax returns.

· Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and sales, to ensure financial data aligns with our operational goals.

Qualifications:

· Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or tax-heavy industries.
• Expertise in GAAP, sales & use tax regulations, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis).
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions.
• Excellent communication & collaboration skills to work cross-functionally.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• CPA or CMA certification (or actively pursuing one).
• Experience with ERP/accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP).
• Multi-state tax research and compliance experience.

· Excellent problem skills to identify discrepancies in financial records and find solutions.

· Attention to detail ensuring accuracy in financial reports.

· Strong communication abilities, with a collaborative mindset for cross-departmental teamwork.

· A proactive attitude with a genuine willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

· Two years’ experience of sales and use tax principles.
