Boy Scouts Create Flag Retirement Box
BSA Troop 25 of Carl Boyd American Legion joined with Modern Woodmen of America to build a flag retirement box. Once the box is completed, our local Boy Scouts will retrieve worn and torn U.S. flags deposited by the public and retire them in a proper manner.
Garth Gherardini, local Modern Woodmen representative, was holding a family event for clients in downtown Cartersville. Troop 25 coordinated with Gherardini, who supplied the materials needed, to complete most of the box fabrication at the event in the square. Adult leaders Anthony Collum, Calvin Lee, and Waylan Collum joined Boy Scouts Angelo Arena, Wesley Collum, and Logan Harrelson as they assembled and transported the box. The box will be placed at a local business when it is finished.
