Cartersville, GA; (Aug. 1, 2012)—Cartersville Ob/Gyn Associates, a full-service obstetrics and gynecology practice, has added Staci N. Kenner, M.D., as a staff physician. Dr. Kenner relocated to Cartersville from Dallas, Texas to join the practice, becoming the only female ob/gyn currently in Bartow County.

Dr. Kenner performed her ob/gyn residency at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, where she served as chief resident from 2011-2012, and received prestigious medical-industry awards for residents in the specialties of obstetrics, gynecology and minimally invasive gynecology. According to Drs. Hugo Ribot and Malcolm Barfield, partner-physicians of Cartersville Ob/Gyn Associates, the practice’s huge growth since its 2010 opening of an onsite surgery center made the need for a new physician imminent. Ribot says, “We interviewed numerous candidates from around the country, and Dr. Kenner was our top pick among them.” Barfield adds, “Aside from her stellar qualifications and training in state-of-the-art, ob/gyn treatment and care, Dr. Kenner is among the rare few in our specialty with hands-on residency training in gynecological laparoscopy and other highly advanced, minimally invasive surgical techniques for which our practice is known – plus offers our patients the option of a female physician. We are proud to have her on board.”

Of joining Cartersville Ob/Gyn, Dr. Kenner says, “I’m excited to launch my medical career at this award-winning practice that is renowned for providing women with the highest level of ob/gyn care available today.”

Dr. Kenner is currently researching the effects of asymptomatic bacteriuria on pregnancy outcomes and has presented research on colon cancer presenting as pelvic masses in women less than 40 years of age. With strong interests in fine arts and traveling, Dr. Kenner hopes to one day visit every continent. She also enjoys attending plays, musicals, and ballet and contemporary dance performances.
