Downtown Cartersville Prepares for Bluegrass & Folk Festival
Free event featuring bluegrass and folk music, plus food, drinks, vendors, and a kids’ corner

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Cartersville Downtown Development Authority and Main Street Program are finalizing plans for the third annual Cartersville Bluegrass & Folk Festival, scheduled for Saturday, October 17th, in downtown Cartersville. This all-day festival will feature two stages of entertainment including bluegrass and folk music, as well as a kids’ area, complete with various games and activities. Held from 11 AM to 9 PM, the event is open to the public and free of charge.

Musical entertainment will consist of 14 bands on two stages. Entertainment will begin at 11 AM starting with Dixie Fire Cloggers on the Depot Stage, which will be located in Friendship Plaza next to the Train Depot. The Firehouse Stage, which will be in front of the old fire station next to City Hall, will begin performances at 12 PM. Both stages will feature a mix of bluegrass and folk bands, with a new band performing every hour until the headliners perform.

While many local and regional performers will provide musical entertainment throughout the afternoon, Cartersville Main Street is excited to have two great headliners for this years’ event. Headlining the Firehouse Stage at 5 PM is City Hotel. The Roys will be the Depot Stage headliner, beginning their performance at 7 PM. Check out the complete lineup, as well as bios of all the bands, at www.cartersvillebluegrass.com and be on the lookout for posters, t-shirts, event program guides and other marketing material provided by Lara J Designs.

The Kids’ Corner, sponsored by Coosa Valley Credit Union, will be held in the Founders Oak parking lot next to the fountain in downtown Cartersville from 12-5 PM. The Kids’ Corner will feature a variety of crafts, activities and games for children to enjoy for free. There will be an opportunity for kids to design their own train conductor hat, attempt to catch a fish, have their face painted, work off some energy in a bounce house, or leave their mark painting a wooden train. A coloring contest will also be held for three age groups, and fun prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Cartersville Bluegrass & Folk Festival would not be possible without the financial contributions of all our sponsors. We would like to give a special thank you to Coosa Valley Credit Union, Lara J Designs, Robert Loehr, Skin Cancer Specialists, P.C. & Aesthetic Center, Johnny on the Spot, Blue Sky Outfitter, Fusion Dance Company, Haigler Systems Architecture, Jane Haigler, Georgia Highlands Medical Services, The Storage Key, Bartow History Museum, Bill Chandler, It’s About Time Boutique, and Hotel Meeting Match, LLC.
