President of Reinhardt University Solidifies Leadership Team

WALESKA, GA – Mark A. Roberts, Ph.D., announces an update on the Cabinet – the President’s executive leadership team, to guide Reinhardt into the future. These three appointments are on the heels of the most recently announced arrival of Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. John D. Miles.

To maximize strengths and talents, and harness the power of collaboration across multiple units, Roberts, President of Reinhardt University, announced:

    • Bill Popp, M.S., will serve as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Athletics. Popp's successes as a leader are evident in his work with athletic coaches and faculty to ensure our student-athletes are successful in the classroom and in their respective competitive sports.  Our data have shown that student-athletes have contributed to enrollment stability, improvements in creating diverse populations on campus, and improved retention rates.  Under Popp’s leadership, and in partnership with his fellow Cabinet members, he will turn his attention to building a strategic enrollment plan to attract a diverse array of talented students.  Plans already underway include re-energizing recruitment for the Screaming Eagles Pep Band, applying to start an ROTC program, and creating scholarship opportunities for specific areas of study.  As Popp focuses on student recruitment and adds enrollment management to his responsibilities, further changes are being made to insure leadership and oversight of Reinhardt’s successful Athletics program.

    • Tish Szymurski, Ed.D., will serve as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, Marketing & Communications. Szymurski will lead marketing and communications to ensure that Reinhardt's brand message and accomplishments are broadcast frequently and effectively across a variety of channels: news outlets, social media, the Reinhardt Magazine, and professional connections with area organizations.  She and her team will continue to collaborate across campus to create and ensure integrated marketing plans are employed effectively for recruitment, and to extend the reach of the University with creative and innovative strategies.  In addition, Szymurski will continue her work to diversify revenue streams for the University, and further Reinhardt’s relationships with local, regional, and national partners.

    • Tom Yannuzzi, Ph.D., will serve as Vice President for Advancement and Community Engagement, a position he has held as interim for nearly one year.  In addition to exceeding last year's fundraising goals, Yannuzzi’s leadership has brought a renewed focus on alumni engagement, target marketing that bridges scholarships with new students – including adult learners, and deep collaboration with the Falany Performing Arts Center and their programs.  Yannuzzi has broadened the University’s engagement and reach with increased foundation giving, and created several new initiatives including the Tilly Strong Together North Georgia and Metro Atlanta Endowed Scholarship Fund, numerous campaigns across the state and new global relationships.

Bill Popp, Dr. Szymurski and Dr. Yannuzzi continue their tenure on the President’s Cabinet at Reinhardt University along with their colleagues, Dr. Walter May, Dean of Students, Dr. John D. Miles, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Stephanie Owens, Vice President for Finance & Administration.
