Cartersville, GA – The National Safe Boating Council (NSBC), is pleased to announce that TowBoatUS Lake Allatoona is a course provider for on-water powerboat training. The NSBC, a leading catalyst for recreational boating safety, provides two on-water instruction programs that have received voluntary third-party verification for an on-water powerboating based on the American National Standard for recreational boating skills.

“We are proud to be the leader in on-water powerboat training,” said Peg Phillips, NSBC Executive Director. “Operator inexperience consistently ranks high as a contributing factor in boating accidents, and our course provides the boating safety instruction necessary to increase the confidence and skills of recreational boaters. Captain Chris Day provides the leadership and experience on Lake Allatoona, and our partnership will make boating safer on the lake.”

NSBC’s on-water powerboating course, “Essentials of Close-Quarters and Open Water Boat Control,” is an Instructor Certification course. NSBC Certified Instructors teach the “Boat Control On-Water Training” curriculum to recreational boaters and marine patrol personnel. Captain Chris Day, as a NSBC Certified Instructor Trainer completed the first Instructor Certification course on Lake Allatoona with personnel from the Bartow County Fire & Emergency Services and the City of Calhoun Fire and Rescue. I believe the departments that attended took a lot from the 3-day class and will be able to really revamp their on-water training class.
