Position Summary
The Engagement & Learning Programs Specialist is our boots-on-the-ground HR team member, dedicated to being present and visible across the workplace. This role focuses on building strong relationships with employees at all levels, keeping a pulse on morale, and supporting ongoing training and engagement activities. From regular check-ins and stay interviews to coordinating recognition and morale-boosting activities, this position plays a hands-on role in making MJC a great place to work. While some training coordination is part of the role, it focuses on delivering and organizing existing programs rather than creating new large-scale initiatives. This position reports to the People and Talent Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a regular presence across the production floor and other work areas to connect with employees.
- Conduct stay interviews and check-ins (daily check-ins during the EE’s first 90 days) to gather feedback and strengthen relationships.
- Coordinate and deliver existing training programs and ensure completion tracking.
- Organize and promote employee recognition activities and morale-boosting events.
- Support leaders with tools and ideas to keep their teams engaged and motivated.
- Act as a friendly, approachable resource for employees seeking support or guidance.
- Help collect feedback and share insights with HR and leadership to improve the employee experience continuously.
- Assist with onboarding engagement touchpoints to help new employees feel welcomed and supported.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in HR or related fields preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in HR support, employee engagement, or a customer service-related role.
- Outgoing and approachable personality with strong relationship-building skills (are a must).
- Comfortable interacting with employees at all levels of the company.
- Strong communication and listening skills (are a must).
- Organized and dependable, with the ability to follow through on commitments.
- Ability to coordinate events and training sessions effectively (are a must).
