Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist
Position Summary
The Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist supports the recruitment and onboarding process, with a primary focus on filling hourly roles. This role assists with job postings, candidate screening, scheduling interviews, and coordinating recruiting tasks such as assessments, physicals, on-site interviews, and reference checks. The Specialist also provides managers with the tools and materials they need for effective interviewing and selection. Additionally, they contribute to the People and Talent Manager with ideas for employer branding, social media, and event support. This is an entry-level to mid-level position with opportunities to grow into advanced sourcing responsibilities over time. This position reports to the People and Talent Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Post job openings and ensure accurate and timely updates to all posting platforms.
- Screen incoming applications and forward qualified candidates to hiring managers.
- Coordinate recruiting tasks such as candidate assessments, physicals, on-site interviews, and reference checks.
- Provide managers with interview tools, guides, and materials to support effective hiring decisions.
- Assist with scheduling interviews and managing related logistics.
- Maintain candidate records in the applicant tracking system.
- Support onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
- Assist with light employer branding, social media posting, and event support related to recruiting.
- Focus primarily on filling hourly roles, with potential to take on more advanced sourcing tasks over time.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in recruiting, HR support, or administrative coordination preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable using applicant tracking systems and basic office software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
